ShortageOfSanity was formed in late 2019 in Dresden (Germany). At that time guitarist and vocalist Sergej Harms wanted to be more creative in his actual project, so he went to the rehearsal room at the complex to find a good drummer. Over time Sergej Harms met drummer, Eric Schulz, and Eric agreed to form a band. This time, the two started composing music together and wrote the first three songs. Soon the bassist was discovered Aleksandr Koltsov had ukranian roots, as did Sergej. They quickly found a common denominator and and started making noise as a trio.

The music is a various mix of extreme metal subgenres such as thrash-, death-, groove- and grindcore with a wide variety of vocals and non-genre inserts. The languages of the songs are english, german, ukranian and russian. All in all it is like if The Melvins would try to play Cannibal Corpse.
ShortageOfSanity are influenced by bands like Meshuggah, Gojira, Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Vader, Slayer, Pantera, Slipknot, Cannibal Corpse, Death, Korn and many more.
As time went on, the three of them started to record their first album, which was released in 2021, entitled “Relapse Again” in which they gave music that was very characterful and intelligent. They give a modern sound and they combine oldschool and modern patterns so that their album looks more luxurious. Due to the corona pandemic they couldn't play live, so they released the album as the band's initial breakthrough.

And the band will be making a new breakthrough with their new album which is in the works in the year. Their single can be heard on our BeelHome.
